The Panchen Lama - Tashi Lhunpo Project

Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is the smallest and poorest of the Tibetan monasteries in exile. The existing site and facilities are extremely inadequate for the health, education and well-being of the monks and for the practice of their great tradition. Khen Rinpoche Kachen Lobzang Tsetan, appointed Abbot in 2005, urgently needs your help to expand and improve the property and buildings, in a modest style, and to increase the number of monks from 350 to 1,500 - as he requested of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who has approved and blessed the project.

The Panchen Lama - Tashi Lhunpo Project (PLTL), under the direction of Khen Rinpoche Kachen Lobzang Tenzin, respects and supports the unique Tibetan Buddhist scholarly lineage and culture of His Holiness the Panchen Lama, who was abducted by the Chinese government in 1995, when he was six years old.
