Dolkar Lhamo

Tenzin was born in Kham, Eastern Tibet. Both of her parents are farmers, she has three brothers and two sisters. One of her brother is a monk. Dolkar did not have any opportunity to attend school in Tibet. She took ordination in Tibet in 1989 and escaped Tibet in 1995 by walking over the Himalayan Mountains to Nepal with five nuns from her village. She then traveled to India and joined Jamyang Choling Institute in August 1995. She has been studying at the Institute for 15 years now and made good progress in both spiritual and secular education..

Tenzin Dadon

Tenzin was born in Arunachal Pradesh. Her father works for the army and her mother is deceased. She has four sisters and two brothers. Tenzin completed middle school and ljoined the nunnery and took ordination in March. Dadon has made great progress studying Buddhist philosophy, both Tibetan language, English and Hindi as well. This year she started second year of course of the six-year parjanaparmita.

Thubten parents are farmers in Ladakh, India. She has one brother and two sisters. She worked at home helping her family. In 2004, she took ordination in Ladakh and moved to Rigzong Nunnery. In 2006, she traveled to Dharamsala and joined the Jamyang Choling Nunnery.

Tenzin was born in Arunachal Pradesh. Her father is a lay Buddhist practitioner and performs Buddhist rituals and prayers for local villagers. She has one older brother and five sisters, before ordination she helped her parents at home caring for her sibling. She joined Jamyang Choling Nunnery in Year 2006.

Jamyang parents are both farmers in Mustang, Nepal. She has one brother and three older sisters. Before ordination she worked at home helping her mother. At the age of 20, she took ordination at a Sakya Nunnery in Derhra Dun and later joined Jamyang Choling Nunnery.

Choying was born in Manang, Nepal. Her father is a businessperson and mother stayed home with her older sister and younger brother. After completing grade five, she studied Tibetan for two years at a nunnery in Nepal as a day student. She then took ordination in Year 2000 at the age of 18 and resides at a nunnery in Nepal. In Year 2006, she joined Jamyang Choling Nunnery.

Tsering was born in Lahual, Himachal Pradesh in India. Her father and mothers are farmers. Tsering has three sisters. After completing grade eight, she and her cousin traveled to Jamyang Choling Institute and joined the Nunnery in April 2006.

Stanzin Youdon A

Tsering was from Thunry village in Zanzkar valley of Ladakh. Her father is a carpenter and mother house wife. She has two brothers and three sisters. Her parents are very poor and were unable to provide any basic education for her. She was sent to Leh to work as servant. Dr. Tsering Palmo, the founder of Ladakh Nuns Association (LNA) found out her situationi and help her to go to school. She feel very fortunate to receive support from LNA and studied up to grade four in Leh. On March 2009 the LNA arranged Stazin along with six other nuns to make a travel to Dharamsala for further Buddhist philosophy education. She was admitted along with other six nuns in April 2009.

Lobsang was born in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh in 1990. Both of her parents passed away. She has one older brother and younger sister. Lobsang was interested in studies but never had an opportunity to do so. She travel to Dharamsala joined the nunnery and took ordination in April 2009.
