Lobsang Dawa

Lobsang Dawa went to a local school tilll first grade. His parents who are farmers sent him to study to be a monk at the monastery in 2005. He has six siblings.

Lobsang Choedak

Lobsang was born in very remote village in Ladakh.  He studied at local school in his area and in Year 2006 he joined the monastery.  Lobsang's parents are Laborer.  Presently he is studying in grade 1 learning both modern and Buddhist philosophy. He is very simple and hard working student.

Lobsang Thupten

Lobsang Thupten went to a local school until 5th grade and joined the monastery this year. His parents are farmers and he has one brother.

Lobsang Tenzin

Lobsang was born to a poor family in eastern India. His parent works for others and earn for their livelihood. Due to their poor condition Lobsang had never been to school.  In year 2007 along with other 20 children from his village, he joined the monastery and right now studying in UKG. He is enjoying the monastic school and learning both modern and Buddhist philosophy.

Lobsang Rigsel

Lobsang was born in Tenzin Gang, North eastern India. His parents are farmers.   He insists his parents that he wants to become a monk.  He was admitted to the monastery in 2007. Presently he is studying in UKG and enjoying his monastic school.

Lobsang Choephel

Lobsang' is a Sheppard boy from very remote village in Kinnaur, Himachal in India. Before joining the monastery he lives in a nomadic life with his parents, who were illiterate.   Lobsang was admitted at the monastery in year 2006 with support from his uncle who is living nearby his village.  He is smart and studying in LKG. 

Lobsang Sangye

Lobsang was born in north east India . His parents are farmers but his mother has been bedridden for a long time so his family faces many problems. Lobsang joined the monastery in 2006 and his teachers say he is a smart and capable student.

Lobsang Rabten

Lobsang is the youngest monks in Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. He was born in the remote village of Tenzingang in Arunachal Pradesh , India .  His parents do whatever work they can find, including small scale farming to earn a meager living.  Lobsang attend primary school when he was six and studied until grade II and joined the monastery in 2006.  He is a hardworking student. 

Lobsang Thapkey

His parents earn their living by working on a small field and working on other people's fields.  While at home, Lobsang worked in the fields with his family.  He was very happy when he was able to join the monastery in 2006 through the support of the monastery and friends of his parents. 

Lobsang Tsering

Lobsang' was born in Rarang Kinnaur in Himachal State in India.  He attended school for one and half year when he was six. His uncle is a monk at the monastery having consultation with his parents his uncle took all the responsible of his future Buddhist studies. In year 2007 Lobsang was admitted in the monastery. He enjoys his monastic life and likes studying Buddhist philosophy and modern subjects at school

Lobsang Dhondup

Lobsang never got an opportunity to study in school.  His parents earn their living by working on a small field and working on other people's fields.  Being a very remote village there is no facility for them to study and very hard to attend regular school due to family poor condition.  Presently he is studying in IV class and enjoying his monastic life. He is very simple and hard working student.  He likes drawing and very fond of painting.

Lobsang Sangye

Lobsang was born to a poor laborer family in Zangsar.  There are seven children in his family.  At age 7 he was sent to local Buddhist monastery. His parents earn their living by working on a small field and working on other people's fields. Lobsang joined the monastery in year 2008 and continuing with his further studies. He enjoys monastic life and studying very hard.  

Lobsang Dawa

Ven. Lobsang Dawa was born in Nubra, Ladakh. At the age of nine, he became monk and joined Gaden Tashi Choeling Monastery and continue his study. At the age of thirteen he joined Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. During his studies in the Monastery. He had specialized in tantric courses and also different monastic musical instrument. He had an opportunity to served as head of the prayer committee of the monastery for ten years. He also served as the administrator of the monastery for three terms. He is presently teaching our small monks and helping with the day-to-day programs.

Topden Tsering

Ven.Topden was born in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh and became a novice monk at the age of eight at local Buddhist monastery. He completed all of his basic courses and joined Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in 1973. He is one the most senior monk. From very beginning he was interested in Tantric section and started doing his studies there. He has an experience of staying in meditationi for long time. He is also vey good cook as was inchaged of the monastery kitchen for long time.

Jampa Lama

Jampa Lama is an orphan, he joined the monastery when he was only six years old. He was taken care by his Teacher who passed away. Jampa completed all secondary courses of the monastery and quite active in the entire filed. He used to be the main Monastic cham dancer and also members of the tour groups. Right now he is the inchage to the Tantric section.

Kachen Lobsang Zotpa

Kachen Lobsang was born in Bhago, Ladakh. He is very brilliant and renowned scholar in Buddhist philosophy. He is among the first group to joined International Gelupa Exam. After six years of exam he secured 1st division. He had an opportunity to served at the monastery in different levels. Presently he is teaching newly monks in their studies and also in charge of their exams.

Kachen Tenzin Kalden

Kachen Tenzin Kalden is from Village Zanskar. He spent his childhood with his family and joined primary school till age eight. At the age of 13, he joined Tashi Lhunpo and continue his studies for whole twenty years, studied basic Buddhist philosophy and obtained Kachen degree in 2008. Presently he serves as disciplinarian in charge of the monastery and also practicing tantric course. He is incharge of the internal buddhist text exam for the monks. He has specialized in Monastic cham dances.

Lobsang Thupten

Lobsang is a very talented monk.  He can do any electrics works. He is very helpful to the monastery.  He joined the Monastery when he was thirteen years old and studied for almost fourteen years. He is an expert in all the prayers and chanting and other monastic activities. He is also a good cook and served even as a kitchen in charged for three years and also as an administrator for three years.  His accomplishment is very much appreciated by entire community of the monastery. He is well known in the monastery as Gen. Thupten la and always very initiative.  

Kachen Lobsang Sherab

Kachen Lobsang was born in Zanskar. At the age of 13, he joined Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. He is very brilliant and renowned scholar. After thirteen years of studies he obtained degree of Kachen. He is among the first group to joined International Gelupa Exam. After six years of exam he secured 1st division. He also had good knowledge of Tantric and specialized in monastic cham dance and mandala constructioin. When the High Abbot of the Monastery are out of station he serves as acting Abbot of the monastery.

Kachen Lobsang Thuskhor

Kachen Lobsang was born in Ladakh. He went to school and studied till fifth grade. At the age of twelve he become monk and joined Disket Monastery in Ladakh and stayed there for almost four years. At 16 joined the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and studied basic Buddhis philosophy. He gained the title of Kachen in 1996. He is renowned scholar and a prayer initiator of the monastery. He is the head of the touring member and also serves as board member.

Kachen Tsultrim Nyima

Kachen Tsultrim was born in Ladakh. He studied at their village school. At the age of thirteen he become monk and joined Disket Monastery in Ladakh and stayed there for almost three years. At 15 joined the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and studied basic Buddhist philosophy and continues to study the full courses of the Buddhist text for almost 16 years. He gained the title of Kachen in 2004.  He has served in different levels of the administration and also served as the disciplinarian of the monastery in year 2007-2008.   Currently he is teaching younger monks in the monastery and he has around sixty student’s learning under him.

Thupten Wangchuk

Ven. Thupten is from remote village in Ladakh. Since childhood he did not get an opportinuty to join School. At the age of 15, he became monk and joined Lukhil Monastery in Ladakh. He joined Tashi Lhunpo Monastery for his further studies and till now continues his studies and also serves in different fields. He is specialized in prayes and chanting. He has obtained degree of Tsok Sak Pa, which is also one of the important ranking according to monastic rule. Presently he is the administrative in charge and will continue for three years.
