Dorjee Passang
Date of Birth: 1985 (Ladakh)
Dorjee parents are farmers in Ladakh. He has three brothers and one sister. He attended TCV School in Ladakh upto 10 grade and joined TCV school in Bylakupee in South India for higher studies. After passang XI grade he came to Dharamsala to join the Insitute of Buddhist Dialectics. At present he is doing 5th year course of Prajnaparamita Buddhist philosophy and then will pursue Madhayamka Buddhist philosophy study program for three years. As his parents are not in a position to support his education, he is very much in need of support for his education. His aim in life is to become a teacher and social worker.




Jamyang Palden
Date of Birth: 1989
Drago in Kham, Tibet
Jamyang father passed away
in Tibet. His mother lives in Drago, Tibet. Jamyang attended local Chinese school for six years. As his family could not meet the expenditure for school fees. He had to leave and started helping his family in farming. He left home and gone to Lhasa without his parents knowledge. After reacing Lhasa He contacted his mother and he escaped to India in 2002. After receiving blessings from His Holiness he went to join Drepung Monastery in South India. He studied Buddhist philosophy there for 5 years and later joined the Buddhist Dialectics. At present hs is doing 5th year course of Prajnaparamita Buddhist philosophy. As he has no one to look after, he is very much in for sponsorship.



Tenzin Wangjor
Date of Birth: Sept 15, 1983
Metro Gongkar near Lhasa , Tibet
Tenzin attended local Chinese school until seventh grade. At the age of 16, he left school and joined Drikung Thi Monastery in his village to study Buddhist philosophy. He escaped Tibet with a group of few Tibetans crossed the Himalayas by foot and then finally to Nepal that took them 2- days.  In India , he was sent to Drikung Kagyue Monastery for religious study and in March 2007, he passed the entrance test and joined the Institute.


Khamsang
Date of Birth: Oct 1, 1989
Lhasa , Medok Gonkar
Khamsang father passed away when he was eight years old. His mother despite many difficulties took the responsibility bringing up her ten children. Their mail source of income is farming, which is not enough to feed their children. Khamsang became monk at the age of 10 and was able to join Meru Monastery in Lhasa to be with his brother. He escaped Tibet along with few others. He was sent to TCV School in Suja near Dharamsala and in March 2007 He joined the Institute after successfully passing his entrance test.




Lobsang Gedun
Date of Birth: December 10, 1985
Shelkar, Toe Region, Tibet
Lobsang is an
orphan. He is the fifth child in the family. People living in their town are farmes. He attended school at age 8 and studied till 7th grade. Due to financial problem of his family he cannot continue his education. He started herding family cattle and assisted his family in their farm. He was not happy for not continue schooling. He escaped to India in year 2002. He studied at Kopan Monastery in Nepal and later joined the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics. Currently he is doing 2nd year Prajnaparamita Buddhist philosophy study program. The duration of this program is 6 years. Lobsang does not have any one in exile to suppot his educational expense. Your genersous support will be highly appreicated.



Choedak
Date of Birth: November 5, 1987/Lhasa, Tibet
Choedak was born in Lhasa and is the elder son of the two children. His family runs a small business. He received formal education from in Lhasa and studied till grade IX. He was sent to India by his parents in 1998 at the age of 10 and was admitted to TCV School . He studied there for five years, then decided to become a monk and study Buddhist Philosophy. In 2004, he got admission at Buddhist Dialectics. He is a very hardworking student who wants to become a writer.


Gyaltsen Lobsang
Date of Birth: July 15, 1990
Shekar, Tibet
Gyaltsen left Tibet at the age of 12 to study Buddha Dharma and joined the Shekar Monastery in India . He studied there many years. In 2004, he was admitted to the Institute after passing the entrance examination.


Samten Gonpo
January 8, 1977
Gawa, Tibet
Soepa was born to a nomad family in Amdo region of Tibet . He looked after their yaks and sheep with his brother. At age fifteen he decided to become monk and joined Rabya Monastery.  In 2000, he left his monastery in Tibet to receive His Holiness Dalai Lama's blessing and continue his studies freely in exile. He joined Sera Jhe Monastery in India but had to leave because the climate did not agree with him.  He was admitted to the Institute.


Yeshi Samdup
Date of Birth: January 11, 1987
Lhatok, Tibet
Yeshi was
born in Phenpo, Tibet to a semi-nomadic family. He was born with arthritis and could not walk until the age of 3. He joined local school at age 7. At age 14 he became monk at Taklung monastery where he studies foundation courses. He was not happy with the system of educationi and decided to escape India with two monks. The three monks left Lhasa crossed the Himalayas by foot and then finally to Nepal. In India he was sent to Drikung Kargye Monastery in Dehradun and in year 2008 he joined the Institute. Yeshi is alone and does not any one in exile to support his education. Your generous support towards him will be greatly appreicated by the Institute.

Soepa Sangpo
February 17, 1978/Amdo, Tibet
Samten was born in Gawa village in Tibet . As a child he attended the village school and left after  four years to become monk in Lungshod Monastery. He escaped with a group of twelve people to India in 2003. He was admitted to the Institute in 2004 and has been doing well in his studies.

Lobsang Jampa
Date of Birth: 1981
Metro Gonlkar, Lhasa ,Tibet
Lobsang mother and his relatives live in Metro Gonkra in Lhasa.  His father passed away. He studied in local Chinese school up to 5th grade and joined a small local monastery.  He escapes India with in Year 2004 to pursue Buddhist philosophy studies. He joined Tibetan transit school to learn English. After that he got admission at the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics. Lobsang has no relatives in India to support him, he is very much in need of your support to continue his studies to become a spiritual master and social worker.


Lobsang Tsewang
Date of Birth: 1985
Zanskar, India
Lobsang parents are farmers in Zanskar in Northern India.  He attended local school up to 5 grade and joined Drepung Monastery in South India to learn Buddhist philosophy. He leaves the monastery due to his health condition and went back to Ladakh.  He came to Dharamsala to join the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics in year 2007.  At present he is doing 2nd year course of Prajnaparamita Buddhist philosophy. As his parents are not in a position to support his education, he is very much in need of support for his education.

Tenzin Choephel
Date of Birth: 1986
Dingri, Tibet
Yeshi was born in Dingri, Tibet. He has never been to school in Tibet. In order to receive education, he left his village and   escapes India and joined Drepung Loseling Monastery.  He then left Drepung Monastery and came to Dharamsala and joins the Institute in Year 2007.  Tenzin is alone and does not any one in exile to support his education. Your generous support towards him will be greatly appreciated by the Institute.

Urgen Tsering
Date of Birth: Nov 12, 1984
Shyabru Bensi, Nepal
Urgen was born in a small Tibetan refugee settlement in Nepal.  His father passed away when he was small.  His mother despite many difficulties took the responsibility bringing him up.  Urgen attended local village school and at age 12 he joined Samtenling monastery in Kathmandu.  At the monastery he received training in performing rituals and pujas. He had great interest in studying Buddhist Philosophy and left his monastery to pursue his dreams. He joined the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics. Presently he is pursuing the 5th year course of Prajnaparamita.
