Choegyal was born in Khangtse, Kham province of Tibet. His parents sent him to India in Year 2008 when he was just six with the hope that he will get good education. He learned his education from Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie. He is the only son of his parents. His father passed away due to long illness. He has no one in India to look after him. His mother is farmer in Kham. Choegyal is studying in 8th grade and he loves to play all kinds of game. He wishes to become a social worker in the future.
