Sponsorship is $30 a month or $360 a year per person for food, shelter, health care and education. Your sponsorship is set up as a recurring gift at the level of support indicated. You may end the payments at any time in the future should you decide to stop sponsorship.

Tenzin grew up in a Tibetan refugee settlement in
South India
. She has eight members in her family. Her family owns a small piece of land where they cultivate rice and potato during season. During winter her parents goes to sell sweaters. Woeser has three sister, all are currently studying in different school. She love singing and dancing and wans to become a greater singer.

Kalsang Dolma
Date of Birth: July 24, 1993

Kalsang was born to a large family in Southern Tibetan settlement called Bylakupee. She has four brothers and one sister. Three younger brothers are studying in Schools. Her elder brother is in Learning center and elder sister is studying Hotel Managment. Her family owns a small piece of land where they cultivate maize during the seasons and prays for good harvest. The income received from their land is the only source of livelihood and also to education their children. When Kalsang was selected among 65 best candidates at TIPA, her parents were very delighted.

Pema Lhamo
Date of Birth: November 19, 1992
Code #: CS-53Pema is from Deckyiling Tibetan Settlement. She have five members in her family. Her father is a driver at Tibetan settlement office and her mother stays home. The income that her father earns runs the whole family. She has two brother both are studying. Pema loves singing, dancing and playing football, basket ball. She got selected after the audition and test at TIPA and was very happy and overwhelmed. Pema is very hard working and friendly.

Tsering Tsomo
Date of Birth: May 7, 1991

Tsering come from a poor peasant family, she have eight family members. Three elder sisters and two brothers. Two eldest sisters are married and the remaining sisters and brothes are still studing in different schools. Her family owns a small piece of land where they cultivate maize during the seasons and prays for good harvest. The income received from their land is the only source of livelihood and also to education their children. Tsering loves music and dance and was very happy that she was selected among 65 best candidates at TIPA.

Tenzin Yangkyi
Date of Birth: Feb 23, 1991

Tenzin resides in Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement. She has ten members and their only source of income is from their small piece of land where they normally grow maize during seasons. Her father got paralyzed while working in the field and could not recover after that. Her mother took all the responsibility to educate all of her children and run the family. She also take care of their own two aged parents. Tenzin's three younger brothers are studying in school. Her elder brother is working but does not contribute to the family. Tenzin was selected among the best candidates and was happy at TIPA.

Tenzin Lhazom

Tenzin Lhazom was born to a small peasant family in Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement. Lhazom's family have three school going children and a grand mother. She is the eldest among all sibling. They have a small piece of land where they cultivate maize during the seasons and prays for good harvest. The income received from their land is the only source of livelihood for the family. Lhazom being the eldest used to help her parents at the field during holiday. In order to survive and raise the family, her parents does small scale sweater business during winter. Lhazom loves Tibetan music and dance and always take opportunity to participate in school culture program. When TIPA announced the admission of new students, she was selected among six best candidates after the stiff competition and test.

Lobsang Gyaltsen
Date of Birth: 1985
Lobsang's parents sent him and his younger brother into exile to get an education when they were 7 and 5 years of age respectively. The two brothers have had a difficult time in
India
as they are alone, their parents having remained behind in
Tibet
. Lobsang attended he Tibetan Children's
Village
School
for a few years and was admitted to the
TIPA
School
because of his burning desire to become an artiste. He is hard working and likes to help others.

Tsepak Wangmo
Date of Birth: 1982
Both Tsepak's parents have passed away, her mother when Tsepak was 6 years and her father when she was 13. As an orphan Tsepak has had various difficulties including being abel to pay school fees and related expenses. Tsepak is delighted to have been admitted into the
TIPA
School
since she has always been intested in the performing arts.

Tenzin is another young refugee whose parents sent him into exile to get an education in
India
when he was 9 years old. His parents and younger brother stayed behind so he has been alone in
India
, depending on the Tibetan exile community for his support . He studied at the Tibetan Children's Village and joined TIPA because of his interest in becoming Tibetan performing arts.

Norbu Samphel
Date of Birth: 1984 Norbu fled Tibet at age 11 leaving behind his parents and relatives. His parents sent him out alone so he could get an education in

. Norbu studied in the
Tibetan
Homes
Foundation
School
before joining TIPA. He is a very talented singer and becoming quite accomplished in playing tranditional Tibetan musical instruments as well as modern instruments such as the piano and flute

Dawa grew up in a Hunsur Tibetan refugee settlement in South India. Her parents do seasonal sweater business for their source of income, which is not sufficient to provide education for their three school going children and to feed their grandmother, who is living with them. Dawa was admitted to TIPA this year. She is very hard working girl and has interest in Tibetan culture. Her main aim is to become a great artiste.
