Thangtong Lhugar was founded by Mr. Phutnsok Tsering in Dharamsala to preserve and promote all aspects of the rich tradition of Tibetan performance arts in its pure and undiluted forms.

The Tibetan performing tradition is facing the danger of disappearing forever with the occupation of Tibet by China and exposure to modern way of life.  The TLPA conducts research in traditional Tibetan performing arts, trains young talents and organizes events to crate awareness about the rich performing arts of Tibet.
