This program was established in 2001 to provide English language and computer training for low-income Tibetans who do not have access to education and training and are at risk of remaining poor. Participants have included teachers from rural schools who received the opportunity to learn new skills, increase their eligibility for certification and improve their chances of remaining employed. So far approximately 135 students have completed this one-year program.
